It really is the most fun I've had in a long time

I watched all the developer commentaries first, then jumped in at the old faithful YO Clan server.

It's just a total blast, and I feel there is a lot of gameplay depth behind it's beautiful art design.

It's infinitely better than TF, TFC and FF put together.

It's just so well thought out and executed.

Whether I'll be this euphoric in two months is another matter, but right now this is really reaaaaaally impressive.

no skill involved, running around like mad chickens just pointing and shooting. boring as hell after 5 minutes and .. well... theres nothing really to it :/ waste of money. The cartoon does it justice, i.e. its a total joke :(

That is exactly how TF has always been, how did you expect anything different? TF can be played in an organised way, but it very rarely is.

trying play FF with 'clan rules'. Much better, organised having clear Defence vs Offence. No mid-map shooting to allow the offence to actually do that. It's muchly improved with clan rules, highly recommended

I've no doubt if everyone is in the same mindset to play "properly" it can be a much more rewarding game, but on publics that just isn't going to happen.

I'm giving TF2 more time before I denounce or ridiculously praise it, got to give it time to let people get into it, try out the new twists on the game, and after a week or two maybe it'll be more indicative of how gameplay would regularly be. I for one last night could definitely tell when our team was overloaded with just deathmatchers though, or a disproportionate spread of classes.

Since it came out I played it for over 11 hours. Really great game, lot's of fun! It's even more fun when you bump in to couple of players that actually communicate and work together, then it's really a blast!

You need to pre-order Orange Box through Steam to get in the TF2 Beta.

It's addictive!

I was raging all night at those fucking [unknown] dudes, ban them all if they can't turn on Steam Friends!

Also server needs an AFK Kick, we got absolutely raped on cp_granary cos our medic was in AFriKa :(

Timer is okay imho. And game is so fucking great, can't believe it. Last competitive game I played was like NS a year ago or something, classes are so fun and every is unique. And it's so easy to see when the team is not working well... Like when you have too much snipers and spies so you lack any strength to make any kind of progress. You really need to balance a team with classes or you will fail hard.

Fucking great game!

I'm enjoying it, but the respawn timers really distract from the gameplay as far as I'm concerned. Be interesting to hear some other views on it

Death would have no meaning then. But now if you die, other team gains advantage for short amount of time and you are "punished". Game would be locked down if you could instantly respawn and join the combat.

Btw. how do I access console?
